Howdy! I just read an interesting article by Bill Tammeus called “Theological Illiteracy is Rampant.” He cites Michael J. Vlach, president of Theological Studies.org, who in turn cites Barna, that states that the most widely known Bible verse (75% of adults and teens in the U.S.) is “God helps those who help themselves.” Problem is, like, that is so totally not in the Bible! Moreover, it directly contradicts passages such as Leviticus 19:18, Mark 12:31, and Matthew 22:39. Like ya’ll ought to go back and read the story of the Good Samaritan Dude in Luke 10:25-42.
