Review of Ten Commandments (2006)
Holy Moses, yes it was awesome! The new Ten Commandments movie was way cool overall. Dougray Scott as Moses was excellent, as was Omar Sharif as Jethro. And Sayid from Lost was great as pharaoh’s vizier/ Moses’ brother. But there were huge problems, as always with the Bible movies. So like what is up with the albino Paul Rhys as Ramses? And there were plenty of stupid scenes, notably Aaron as the jealous brother when Moses the Prodigal Son returned, and the sugar coating of the Amalakite genocide was bizarroville. And Joshua a pacifist? But the shabang was great, and it was the first time my kids could stomach a Bible movie. They even liked it. You can read more about the flick at this NY Times article (you have to log in).
