So it’s chapel service at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Rev. McKissic said he sometimes speaks in tongues while praying. Uh oh! Then the #&*@ hit the fan, and the trustees voted 36-1 that any sort of promotion for speaking in tongues will not be tolerated. So this brings up two questions:
1. How secure is the job for the one person who voted against the measure?
2. How do they justify not speaking in tongues on campus, when it was such a large part of early Christianity? I’m just a donkey so what do I know, but haven’t they read Acts 2?

The Israel Antiquities Authority began construction on a structure dedicated to teaching about archaeology in Israel. It’s called the National Campus for the Archaeology of Israel, and it will be located near the Israel Museum and the Knesset.

There have been two relatively recent reinactments of Daniel 6. The first took place in Kiev, where a man lowered himself into the lion’s den and shouted “God will save me, if He exists.” Then a lioness severed his carotid artery, and he died. The second occurred back in 2004 when a man jumped into a lion’s exhibit at the Taipei zoo and tried to convert the lions to Christianity. Lucky for the man, the lions had just eaten, and he was rescued.

Yikes! I’ve been so busy trying to rebuild New Orleans that I didn’t notice that the Apocalypse is here. Well, that is if you believe the media. And like, oh yeah, be sure to watch the video. (We all know Satan prefers two-headed animals)

Recently a construction worker in Ireland discovered a Medieval book of psalms while he was removing peat with a backhoe. The book is about 20 pages, in Latin script, and Bernard Meehan (Trinity College) dates the manuscript to 800-1000 CE. The book was found open to Psalm 83.

With the escalation of wars in the Middle East, and missiles even falling on Nazareth, Chuck Raasch (GNS) ponders if these are the end of times in this USA Today Opinion (July 20th, 2006). I’m curious if there will be blogs in donkey heaven.

Darlings, it seems some “Christian Archaeologists” found some stones in Iran that resemble wood and it might even be boat shaped. Their conclusion, it’s Noah’s Ark of course.

I just read about a new Bible Commentary produced by African Bible scholars that addresses contemporary issues such as slavery, AIDS, and female circumcision. Sounds cool.
